Campa-Najjar Is Committing Voter Fraud According to a Former Mayor

Ammar Campa-Najjar is a Democrat candidate running for mayor of Chula Vista

A former mayor of San Diego County’s second-largest city has levied serious accusations against Ammar Campa-Najjar, the Democrat candidate for mayor of Chula Vista. Former Chula Vista Mayor Shirley Horton accused Campa-Najjar of lying to voters about where he and his family live.

“Professional Private Investigator and former FBI agent, Lawrence Hamilton, has obtained more than 70 videos and photos that show Campa-Najjar living at a condo, Building 41 West, located on Fifth Avenue in San Diego,” read a press release from Horton. “Hamilton has agreed to sign an affidavit under penalty of perjury that states he conducted an investigation of Campa-Najjar.”

Horton asserts that Campa-Najjar had been residing with his girlfriend, Congresswoman Sara Jacobs. The former Chula Vista mayor alleges that Campa-Najjar had stayed at the Building 41 West condo for 32 straight nights. The press release cites a quote from David Oyos, the President of the Chula Vista Police Officers Association.

“Chula Vista municipal code states ‘a person running for Mayor must be a resident of Chula Vista and a registered voter of the City. If someone commits a crime, it needs to be addressed,’” said Oyos.

“Campa-Najjar has never served on any City commission, group, board, or even attended a City Council meeting before he decided to run for Mayor and now we find out he doesn’t even live here,” continued Horton in the press release.

Campa-Najjar has been endorsed by California Governor Gavin Newsom and Democrat Senator Alex Padilla.

“From his first job as a community organizer in Chula Vista for a presidential campaign, serving in the White House, advocating for small businesses at the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C., fighting for the American worker in the U.S. Department of Labor, Ammar has devoted his life to service,” Newsom said regarding Campa-Najjar.

Campa-Najjar is facing Republican City Councilman John McCann in the general election on Nov. 8.
