Pre-Oscar Party Gossip exposes Former VP Harris’ intent to run for CA Governor

“I am staying in this fight,” Harris told friends in private conversations and gatherings.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris is rumored to be considering a run for California state governor in 2026 — that is, if she doesn’t make a second attempt at a presidential run in 2028.

With hopes of a political comeback, she’s given herself until the end of the summer to decide.

The buzz started at a pre-Oscars party two weekends ago, where insiders say Harris hinted at a possible run to replace the term-limited Gavin Newsom. This comes as Katie Porter announced her intent to run for governor earlier this week, despite having previously reported that she “wouldn’t run against Kamala.” Albeit, Kamala’s entry still looms, and she hasn’t formally announced any intent to run.

However, even the prospect of her campaign has scared off candidates like State Attorney General Rob Bonta, who told POLITICO he would rather “endorse her”.

A state is a governor’s resume. The destructive fires that scorched Los Angeles County in January have turned the heads of many Californians who once put their trust in Democrats’ one-party rule.

As the state struggles to effectively address major blazes in areas like Palisades and Altadena, residents are shifting their focus from political rhetoric to real results, demanding accountability from their leaders.

Harris has given plenty of actions and words to follow. From public appearances at the NAACP Image Awards and Lakers Games to attending meetings regarding artificial intelligence in Las Vegas, she seems to be keeping her options for political maneuvering open.

As far as Kamala’s self-imposed deadline for a next move, not much is certain.

Whether she will run at all remains a mystery, and even she herself may be unsure.
