LA Supervisor Barger Vows Justice for Tragic Murder of LA Sheriff’s Deputy

“Justice will be served,” the supervisor said.

In a heart-wrenching act of violence, Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer, a dedicated member of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, was fatally ambushed this past Saturday. Aged just 30, the deputy became the target of an unknown assailant merely for donning his uniform.

Supervisor Kathryn Barger, who represents the Palmdale area, where the cold-blooded murder occurred, expressed her profound grief. “Words cannot describe my immense sorrow for the tragic loss of a brave @LASDHQ deputy’s life tonight. My heart breaks for his family, his fiancé, his fellow officers & the community at large,” she lamented.

According to Sheriff Robert Luna, the shocking incident happened around 6 p.m. when Deputy Clinkunbroomer was found in a non-responsive state inside his patrol car. A vigilant bystander immediately dialed 911, and despite medical professionals’ best efforts at the hospital, the deputy succumbed to his gunshot wound.

“We’re trying to ascertain the exact motive,” Luna stated, visibly disturbed. “He was just driving down the street, and for no apparent reason — and we’re still looking into the specific reasons — somebody decided to shoot and murder him.”

Barger, showing unwavering support for law enforcement officers and their sacrifices, reiterated the need for justice and accountability. She emphatically stated, “Ryan’s loved ones and the community at large demand, and now deserve, answers. Why was Clinkunbroomer murdered? Who was involved? And what is their background?”

The tragic event has left the community shaken, and law enforcement professionals are under increased pressure to unravel the circumstances leading to the fatal attack. Presently, a key piece of evidence, a video clip showcasing a car pulling up next to the patrol vehicle before racing away, remains central to the investigation.

On September 18, a man believed to be a suspect in the shooting was arrested after he barricaded himself inside his home.

It’s a grim reminder of the risks law enforcement officers face daily, underscored by Barger’s poignant reminder: “Our Law Enforcement officers selflessly put their lives on the line daily when they put on their uniform. These brave professionals fall under harsh scrutiny but it is undeniable that they risk their lives everyday as they work to protect our communities. Today’s loss is a terrible reminder of that reality.”
